Yoga for Women with ADHD

I am so excited to be offering a therapeutic yoga series for women with ADHD. As a woman with ADHD, I know it can make life more challenging at times, especially when I try to keep up with societies expectations. I created this series to help bring more attention to some of the more subtle issues that being a woman with ADHD brings, and to help other women embrace their differences with love.

Yoga has helped me to create a safe space for awareness, acceptance, and then action. With ADHD, action often can come before even a full awareness, much less acceptance. With the tools of yoga we can slow down, become more in tune with our body, mind and spirit. Not for the benefit of others, but for our own well-being.

Most people often view yoga as only movements or poses, but it is so much more. In this beginner friendly series we will use breathwork, meditations, mudras, affirmations, lifestyle suggestions, and philosophy as well as movement for the body. All this will be supplemented with resources from ADHD experts. Each week there will be 'homework', allowing us to get to know ourselves better--self-study is the key to making change that works. They'll be opportunities to share and learn from one another, and handouts to keep for practice to continue after the series is through. With this greater understanding of how we individually work, we can move on to acceptance and self love, and begin to create a life and practice based on that awareness and acceptance. Using our natural creativity and coming from a place of non-judgement, we will work with our strengths, and weaknesses allowing our life to flow with greater ease.

I can't wait to pass on what I have learned, and help women to create a supportive network, and environment where they can thrive.
